Natural Born Architects streeft als multidisciplinaire ontwerppraktijk naar intelligente architectuur die out of the box durft denken, en een sterk maatschappelijk bewustzijn aan de dag legt.
Duurzaamheid, begrepen in zijn breedste betekenis en in zijn volle complexiteit – van ecologie, over circulaire economie en mobiliteit tot gedeelde ruimte vandaag – mag geen loos begrip blijven. Wij willen over al deze zaken nadenken en er via architectuur uitspraak over (kunnen) doen.
Goede architectuur is voor ons in eerste instantie intelligente architectuur die slim georganiseerd en geïntegreerd is. Dit hoeft echter allerminst op basis van de beproefde recepten. We zoeken naar een onverwachte invalshoek die nieuwe inzichten en mogelijkheden biedt, en ruimte creëert voor speelsheid en radicaliteit. We hebben daarbij steeds oog voor detail, vakmanschap, ruimtelijkheid en materialen.
We voelen ons prettig in tijdelijke samen-werkingsverbanden op maat van een project, waarin naast collega-architecten en stedenbouwkundigen ook kunstenaars, botanisten, ambachtsmannen of filosofen kunnen verschijnen.
We hebben meer dan vijftien jaar ervaring als leidinggevend architect, en zijn werkzaam in de verschillende domeinen van de architectuur: nieuwbouw en renovatie, publiek en privaat, klein en grootschalig.
Op dit moment werken we in onderaanneming voor Atelier Kanal (noA architecten, Sergison Bates Architects & EM2N) als senior project architect aan de reconversie van de voormalige Citroën-garage in het multifunctioneel cultureel centrum Kanal Centre Pompidou/CIVA architectuurinstelling.

ABOUT US
Natural Born Architects is a multidisciplinary design practice aiming for intelligent architecture that dares to think out of the box. We strongly believe in the social responsibility that comes with the production of architecture today.
Sustainability, understood in its widest sense and in its full complexity – from ecology, over circular economy and mobility, to collective space today – can’t be an idle claim in our profession. We want to think about all of these issues and use architecture as our tool to take up a position.
To us, good architecture is first and foremost intelligent architecture, carefully organised and integrated. However, this shouldn’t necessarily lead to the tried-and-tested, on the contrary. We always look out for an unexpected approach to produce new insights and possibilities, generating both playfulness and radicality. In addition, we keep an eye on detail, craftsmanship, spatiality and the use of material.
We feel comfortable in temporary collaborations, tailor-made to a specific project, in which architects and urbanists can operate alongside artists, botanists, craftsmen, philosophers or other specialists.
We have over 15 years of experience as a leading project architect, working in the different domains of architecture: renovation and new, public and private, small- and big scale.
At this moment we also work as senior project architect for Atelier Kanal (noA architecten, Sergison Bates Architects & EM2N) on the reconversion of the former Citroën-garage into the multifunctional cultural centre Kanal Centre Pompidou/CIVA architecture centre.
